Pool Party!

I took the girls to a little pool party at my friend's house.  Lorelai is getting more and more daring in the pool and by the end of the day she was fearlessly throwing herself off the diving board!  Evelyn was at the pool too but wouldn't cooperate for pictures...

Evelyn is 3!

Evelyn turned 3 years old on July 7th.  We had her party the following Saturday on July 9th.  I admit, I went a little overboard on her party.  Summer birthdays are hard because everyone is always so busy with family vacations, etc.  Last year, we were so busy with our upcoming move to Kentucky so I feel like her birthday got a little looked over.

So this year...  I rented an inflatable water slide with a bounce house attached.  The kids loved it!!  We had about 13 kids show up (not including mine).  They were flying on that slide, landing in the pool of water at the bottom.  We had lunch and cake and after that, we had about 200 water balloons to go crazy with!  We ended the party with a rented sno-cone machine.  Such a great time!

We rented a giant bounce house but this girl just wants to swing!  She just learned to pump her legs and swing herself so now that's all she wants to do.

July 4th

It has been a rainy and stormy 4th of July for us.  All the local fireworks were cancelled due to thunder...  Well, this is Kentucky! ...so we created our own fun!!  We actually had a better time than I could have imagined at a crowded lake enjoying the town firework display.  I gave Joe the go ahead to buy some fireworks to set off in the yard.  The girls were amazed!  We had such a great time!!

We started the evening with some soft serve ice cream.  Scarlet is still too small for ice cream but nothing can take the smile from this little one's face

Lorelai has to be the cleanest 4yr old, ice cream eater I know.  Not a drop was spilled!

Scarlet is just about ready for bed...fireworks won't start until after her bedtime.  Normally, I'd let her stay awake to enjoy the fireworks but it stays light outside way too late.  We aren't setting off fireworks until about 10pm!  No way will she last that long...

I am not sure what possessed me to give this trouble maker a lighted weapon but here she is...

Sooooooo close....

Scarlet is almost crawling.  She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks and rolls and moves her body every which way but forward.  She still gets around the room quite a bit.  The time to baby proof like crazy is here!

Getting more verbal

Scarlet is starting to get a little more verbal.  Sometimes it's the occasional "dadadadada" and other times she just yells to hear her own voice.  Maybe she's just trying to be heard in this crazy household.

Milestones...

Reaching a couple milestones with Scarlet...

On May 30th we noticed that she has two little teeth... You wouldn't know it though because she is not cranky at all!

June 13th she is officially a sitter.  She gets better at sitting every day.  A few wobbles here and there but she is constantly improving...
