Disney Day 1... evening at Epcot

After an afternoon nap we went out for a wonderful dinner and spent the evening at Epcot.  We ate at Le Cellier in the Canada pavilion.  It's a great steak house.  Before we left for Disney we had a talk with the girls on what to do if you get lost at the parks.  We told them to find a "worker".  For Lorelai that was simple to accept, but Evelyn needed further explanation.  I explained that the workers at Disney World all wear name tags and I showed her pictures from the internet of different cast members in different uniforms, all wearing name tags so she could pick out someone safe.  Well for some reason, at this dinner, she was fixated on our server and pointed out that she had a name tag so she knew she worked there!  Every time this poor woman came to our table, Evelyn had to point out her name tag.  The woman was so sweet and ended up making Evelyn her own name tag to wear!  Evelyn wore it with pride all night!  Evelyn pointed out cast member name tags the ENTIRE trip.  At least it stuck!

After dinner we went to see a couple of local celebrities.  Mickey was our first stop.  I didn't know how Scarlet would react to seeing a character who she knew from television.  The last time she was at Disney World she was a baby.  She's also so incredibly shy, so I just didn't know what she'd do.  Well, when we were next in line, and she was behind the velvet rope waiting her turn, she caught her first glimpse of Mickey Mouse.  I've never seen her act the way she did.  She stood on her tip toes, reached way up high with her hand, waved vigorously and yelled his name, "MICKEY! MICKEY!" over and over again trying to get his attention.  When it was her turn, she took off into his arms.  Such a special moment!

Now waiting in line to see Joy and Sadness from Inside Out.

Joseph liked the light up memories

Evelyn said, "Joy! You have blue hair!"

Lorelai tried to cheer Sadness up by giving her her Mickey sticker.

And onto Baymax!

Joseph, look at this GIANT, puffy Baymax!  Nope, he's more interested in checking out the wall...

hugs!
