First plane ride...

My cousin's wedding was Labor Day weekend.  I really wanted to go and plane tickets were expensive so we decided that I would attend the wedding without Joe and he'd stay home with the girls.  When I thought about this further, it seemed a bit cruel to leave Joe home alone with three little girls, so I decided to take Scarlet with me, especially since it's free for her to fly on my lap and I had childcare available during the wedding (thank you Babci and Pop Pop).  This idea was also inspired by the fact that the last time I flew alone to a wedding, one kid ended up with stitches and one kid escaped out the front door without Joe's knowledge.  Yeah... I think I'll take the baby with me!

So, it's Scarlet's first plane ride!

Scarlet is "helping" me pack

Waiting to board the plane.  She is all smiles and stealing hearts...

Flying Southwest Airlines is awesome because there's no assigned seating.  So I sit down with Scarlet and people avoid the Lady with the Baby like the plague!!  So what happens?  I have a free seat next to me!  There was like two free seats on the entire plane and we had one next to us...perfect for laying down the baby.  And you know what??  Jokes on them!  Scarlet was a perfect, little flyer.  She didn't fuss for a minute!  She just wanted to smile and interact with other passengers and then fell asleep.  Each leg of the journey was the same.  Perfect, sweet baby...

Meeting cousin Thomas (and new baby Kate who's sleeping)

A Mother has a special sort of glow when she has a night out without her children.  It was great spending time with family at the wedding!

Pop Pop is keeping is eye on Scarlet

Bath time fun!  She doesn't look amused

Plane ride home and we have TWO SEATS next to us.  Man, people really don't want to sit next to us.  Hahahaha  She was perfectly well behaved again.  I even had several passengers come up to me when we landed to say how good she was.  Parenting win!

Momma is tired.  After a late night at the wedding, we had to wake up at 4am to make our 6am flight.
