While the girls play, Scarlet is having her first experience with ice water in a sippy cup. She gets surprised every time... I'm not sure she knows what to make of it yet.

Scarlet's Baptism...
In late July we had Scarlet's baptism in Cincinnati, OH. Not many people know the story behind why we chose to have the baptism here...
We had a few pregnancy losses after Evelyn's delivery due to a complication with a prior delivery (which has since been fixed!). Regardless, it was a tough time for us and each pregnancy was bringing on more and more anxiety and fear. When we were finally pregnant with Scarlet we had just found out and Joe had to fly to Virginia to be in a friend's wedding. The friend's brother was studying to be a priest at the time and Joe had mentioned our story. This brother, Br. Bonaventure, took it upon himself to say a special prayer for our baby with all the brothers of the church and they blessed a rosary to give to our baby. This meant so much to me and my pregnancy was uneventful and easy and we feel truly blessed that God picked out Scarlet especially for us! (we just had to wait a little longer for her than we expected). Everything happens for a reason and we couldn't imagine our lives without this little wonder.
When it came time to baptize Scarlet, Br. Bonaventure had just been newly ordained and we asked if he would do us the honor of baptizing our little one. We made a weekend of it in Cincinnati and it was a very small, intimate, but very special ceremony for us.

Evelyn was at the ceremony too. However, the baptism was at 2:30pm and nap time is usually around 1:00pm. She was cranky and not cooperating with pictures. |
What a special moment.... Thank you, God, for this sweet little baby who you hand picked to join our family |
Surgery is no fun!
I am sorry for the lack of posts lately. Lorelai had her tonsils out.... Scarlet's been teething.... Evelyn just started school and it completely poops her out.... and Joe was out of town in Idaho for a whole week leaving me to deal with the kiddos all myself! I've been exhausted but everyone is doing great now!
Lorelai did great with her tonsils and totally milked the attention for all it was worth. She had a few movie marathon days on the couch with all the delicious popsicles she wanted. Scarlet has finally cut the teeth that were bothering her and Evelyn is loving school and getting used to the new routine.

Meade County Fair
Another day....another fair. The girls had fun in Meade County on all the rides! Daddy enjoyed the demolition derby and we all enjoyed the food!
The dragon roller coaster was a favorite for the girls. I think they road it at least 5 times |
Scarlet had fun too. She didn't go on any rides but there was lots to see! |
Lorelai was just barely tall enough for the bumper cars |
Going on the mini ferris wheel. Sometimes I wish I could cage in these girls... |
...born to ride... |

First Day of School...
The girls had their first day of school in the beginning of August. This seems absurd to me. It is so early to go back!! It's still the middle of summer. They get out of school early too...around the end of May. Anyways, both the girls and Momma were excited. Lorelai is in PreK-4, and Evelyn is in PreK-3. Lorelai goes to school Monday through Thursday and Evelyn goes Monday through Wednesday from 9am-12pm. It's only three hours but without them in the house it's amazing how much I am able to accomplish in such a short time!
School started on a Thursday so the girls actually started school on different days. Lorelai was first. She is so excited to make new friends and meet her new teacher. |
This is Lorelai's go-to camera pose. Portraying sweetness |
Evelyn is a little nervous but excited that it's "My turn?" for school. She has the same teacher that Lorelai had last year so that makes for an easy transition |
Evelyn looks up to her older sister so much. She decided to pose just like Lorelai |
Lorelai is such a good big sister. She is excited and proud that it's Evelyn's first day of school! |

Hardin County Fair
It's summer time and the Hardin County Fair is in town. Tractor pulls, petting zoos, demolition derbies, rides, carnival food and more! We are enjoying country life and the girls had such a great time.
Below is a quick video of their favorite ride. The girls rode it several times. By the end, they had their hands in the air, not holding on! Pop Pop would be so proud!
Enjoying the petting zoo. This poor bunny... I'm not sure I trust crazy Evelyn to hold it for long |
