School Mass

The kids are now attending a Catholic School and that means Mass is held on Wednesday mornings.  Each week a different class is chosen to "lead" or "host" the mass for the school.  This week it was the first grade and Evelyn was chosen for the first reading.  She practiced for more than a week.  She was so excited but nervous as well.  I watched it live stream on the day but when I picked her up at school I asked her how it went and she said "Good.  I wasn't nervous but my legs were wobbling and my LEGS didn't want to go up there and do it!" The fact that she is now missing her two front teeth causes her to lisp a little too.

The video in the web version shows all the set up etc but the Mass actually started at 22:58 so you can fast forward to that point.  Evelyn does her reading at 28:15.  Watching her disinfect everything at the end was quite cute as well.  Very proud of her!

Little bike/hike

Joe went on a tough 6+ mile hike with some friends so I decided to take the kids on our own adventure.  We packed up a couple bikes and went on a hiking trail of our own right down the street from our house.  It was a lot of fun!

Scarlet started off using a bike but that didn't last long.  Her training wheels just couldn't handle the terrain.  So we decided she'd walk with me and Joseph.

We found some boulders to climb on too

Ragdoll

Bruno just drags the kids around like little ragdolls... video in the web version

Fall leaves

Our aspen trees are losing their leaves fast and our yard is covered.  The kids are having a little fun "helping" me rake them up.

Look at that joy on Evelyn's face!

Sport boy

It is beautiful fall weather and with the girls at school, this little boy takes advantage of some outside time after lunch.  He is a sports dude through and through.  Every day is something different: soccer, baseball, basketball, etc.
Three videos below in the web version...

Tooth drama

Evelyn's two front teeth were loose at the same time and she ended up losing them both in the same week just a few days apart.  They were practically hanging out of her mouth when I had to pull them.  In the video below you can see the drama that ensued.  Notice that as soon as the tooth came out, there were no more tears.  She was so afraid to have them pulled and admitted afterwards that there was no pain at all.

First tooth is out!

Look at that toothless smile! She has an adorable lisp right now

September wrap-up...

Leftover pictures from our busy September...

Can you see the kids in the background?  We let them take their bikes for the first time on our walk.  They loved riding through the woods!

We are loving our indoor fires in the evening

This ham is posing for the camera

Just a little evening downtown to enjoy some ice cream.  Here the kids are standing in front of the infamous Strater Hotel

We took a drive to the Animas Overlook and had a picnic lunch

Eating lunch at James Ranch Grill.  They have two goats "Snicker" and "Doodle".

My lunch date!
