No! It's not gas!!!

February 10, 2012 marked the day of Lorelai's first "social smile".  She has been making little smiles here and there for a while, but they were all usually in her sleep and was mostly the result of her having gas.  Well, I am sick of people telling me that her smiles are because of gas because she is officially a social smiler!!  She is making eye contact and responding to me smiling and making noises at her.  Lucky I caught it all on camera!!  Since the 10th she seems to love to smile all the time.  We love interacting with her.  She is also cooing a lot more and making all kinds of cute noises.

Lazy Sunday

It is a cold German day outside.  We are having a very lazy Sunday morning.  The whole family, including the giant dog, is snuggling under the warm covers.  Perfect way to start a lazy day!

A little comparison...

It seems as though Lorelai is growing like a weed right before my eyes!  She is just growing too fast already.  Lorelai doesn't fit into any of her newborn clothes.  I've had to pack them all away.  Here are two pictures of Lorelai with Daddy.  The first was taken when Lorelai was just a few days old.  The second was taken when Lorelai was 6 weeks old.  See the growth?

Knitting Momma

The weather has turned much colder here in Germany.  A new hat and mittens knit by Momma is just what little Lorelai needs.  Now I'm working on a matching sweater but I think that might take a while.  When it's finished (and if it comes out right) I'll be posting it. 

Papa Joe and Maddie's visit

Here are some pictures of Papa Joe and Maddie's stay with us.  It was great having family around.  Next time we see family, Lorelai is going to be so much bigger!  She continues to change so much every week.

Naptime!

We showed Papa Joe and Maddie around Wiesbaden.  It was a very cold day.

We took a day trip to Rudesheim for lunch.  As you can see, this is not our car.  We had to borrow a friend's car because our BMW only seats four and there were five of us with the baby.  Time to get a more "family friendly" vehicle!  That is first on my list when we get back to the States.  Daddy may not look like he knows what he's doing with that Baby Bjorn but he does.  Mom is getting Lorelai bundled up for our trip.

We sat down to eat some authentic German food.  Lorelai took a nap.  She was too cozy in her snow suit.  We just laid her down in the booth.  Funny baby.

KILLING BAD GUYS!

Lorelai is spending some quality time with Daddy playing Modern Warfare 3.  Joe is telling her all about the different weapons.  I think I am definitely going to have a tom-boy on my hands. 

Happy baby this morning

Lorelai woke up all smiles this morning.  I couldn't resist snapping a couple of pictures.  She had a good night sleep.  Mornings are always the best time of day for her and she tends to get crankier at night.  Overall she is a good baby...happy and healthy!
