LiteBrite

 Evelyn's LiteBrite has been tucked away for a while and Joseph has discovered it.  He plays with it almost every day.  He's so happy with it, and he just sits and sings to himself as he pops the pegs in.

Winter isn’t over!

Our snow was almost gone and then it started to fall again.  We thought it might just be a dusting but I think we are in for a snowy Easter.  It is a beautiful sight though!

This is when the snow just started falling.  The older girls were at school and Scarlet and Joseph immediately wanted their snow gear on so they could play.  I had literally just washed it all to put in storage for next winter....oh well

Fun with Texas Friends!

The kids had a great spring break playing with friends!  The kids stayed up late, watched movies, jumped on their friends' trampoline, built with Keva Planks, and went to a playground.  It was just good, running around outside barefoot, dirty fun!

We loved building with these Keva Planks.  I may have to get some for the kids.  We had to break out the step stools because we built such tall towers!

A little zoo...

 The kids and I traveled to Abilene, TX to visit friends during their spring break vacation.  They have a tiny zoo there and the kids were definitely missing the animals they're so used to seeing.  We spent a couple hours riding the train and carousel, feeding giraffes, and watching the wildlife!

Feeding the giraffes was the highlight of the day.  They had two babies too!

I love Joseph's face...I think I used to make that face at him when I fed him baby food...

Twister madness...

 While the older kids were at school, and I was busy doing chores around the house, the younger two kiddos took it upon themselves to set up the Twister mat.  They don't fully understand the concept and Joseph just proclaims himself a Ninja as he darts all over the mat, but it's a bit amusing to watch.  I tried to help them out a little, but it was a little crazy...

Pajama Silliness...

 It is so difficult to get snug fit pajamas on a kid straight from the bath.... This boy keeps me laughing!

Last Lesson

It is the last ski lesson of the season and these kids have done amazing!  They had 7 lessons in total and Lorelai is now skiing BLACK runs and was invited to join the Pioneer Trail Ski Club next season!!  This club is by invitation or try-out only!  We are so proud of both girls.  Starting the season just two months ago, never having skis on their feet to this!  Evelyn can do all the Green runs and a couple of Blues.  I can't wait until next season when we can hopefully get the little ones started too!  There are eight videos below in the web version too...

Winter Cascade Canyon

With friends in town we headed up to Winter Cascade Canyon aboard the Durango Train!  It was a 5 hour round trip and the views were spectacular. It was a little over two hours from Durango to Cascade Canyon, then about 45 min in the Canyon to explore and eat some lunch before returning back home. The train was awesome.  We were assigned a heated car but could travel throughout the train while it was running.  There was a Concessions car for snacks and an open air car to get even better glimpses at the view.   The yummy hot apple cider (some mixed with Jack Daniels) was a hit too!

We brought lunches for the kids while the adults enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches by the fire
