Tree Trimming

We got a new tree to go with our new, high ceiling, mountain home.  Twelve feet didn't seem that big until I put it up!  We need quite a few more ornaments to fill it up so it's not completely decorated yet.  We also need a new star which is still in the mail but the kids hung their ornaments.  We played Christmas music and had a great time trimming the tree!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a couple guests for our Thanksgiving holiday...Papa Joe and Maddie!  The kids were very excited as usual.  We had tons of food, two kinds of pie, and went for a walk in our neighborhood afterwards to work it off.

Silly games

 Just playing around...

Sweet Scarlet

Sometimes Scarlet has a sweet side. Usually her sassiness is showing but it warms my heart when the sweetness comes out.

A weekend stroll...

Just trying to get outside for some fresh air, we took the kids on a walk/bike ride in the valley by our house.  The temperatures may be dropping but the Colorado sun is warm and pleasant.

We found a fort!

Scarlet’s 5th Birthday

With the pandemic, birthday parties are difficult, especially with the colder weather coming and it getting harder to have gatherings outside.  Luckily, Scarlet (my shy one), doesn't seem to mind the lack of attention or a big to-do!  We wanted to do something fun as a family but everything started closing again in rapid succession.  Her actual birthday was on a Wednesday and she had school.  She brought donuts to school to celebrate with her friends.  When I picked her up we got happy meals for dinner (something we rarely do) and when Daddy came home from work we went to get ice cream at a local place that would actually let us eat inside.  We didn't do cake and presents etc on her this day because after school is a hectic time with tired kids...

We decided to celebrate on Friday when she could stay up later and sleep in the next day.  I told her she could pick any cake she wanted and she said she wanted a Fairy Garden cake.  I wrapped up all her presents from us and from family and she opened her gifts.  Then, I told her we'd have a late night, birthday movie...anything she wanted!  She combed through our Disney Plus account and decided on Home Alone of all things.  She had fun....woke up the next morning to play with new toys!
