Halloween Games...

Our neighbors are very spaced out and hosted the "Halloween Hoopla" last week so we didn't know what trick-or-treating would be like.  Our plan was to go into town at some of the neighbors down there but I organized some games during the day so I was sure they'd have some Halloween fun in case trick-or-treating was a bust.  The kids had to complete each task.  If each task was completed they'd get a trip to the ice cream store as a prize (considering they all had plenty of candy already).

Bean Bag Toss

The Ring Toss was quite difficult for the kids to get the hang of.

Halloween Hoopla

Our HOA community had a little "Halloween Hoopla" for the kids.  It was really nice considering there aren't many kids who live in our neighborhood.  The kids got to dress up and go on a "trick or treat trail" to stations set up to get candy.  Then they had a Halloween scavenger hunt, food was prepared, and the kids painted pumpkins.

I made a giant pumpkin, made of cups, and filed with candy for the kids to punch out

I also had lollipops at my trick-or-treat station

I love my strong Spiderman!

Lorelai is very into dragons these days

Princess Anna of Arendelle

I think one of the reasons Scarlet likes Elsa so much is because she's a Queen, not a princess

Elsa and Anna (although, Elsa is supposed to be the big sister)

Spiderman looks lost in the Spider Queen Forest.  He should be in his element!

I've never seen so much candy.  People gave out absurd amounts!  What am I gonna do with it all?!

Pumpkins

Pumpkin carving is pretty big in our household.  The kids usually pick out a pattern that I carve but they help scoop out the pumpkins.  Lorelai has been carving her own the last two years.  I think she's soon ready for more complicated patterns.

She was determined to do the whole thing all by herself.  Lorelai did an awesome job!

Scarlet is so dainty as she removes the pumpkin guts

Scarlet wanted an Elsa pumpkin (OF COURSE!)

I was going to make Joseph a Spiderman pumpkin but after he saw Lorelai's scary face jack-o-lantern, he kept saying, "No, I want a SPOOOOOOOOKY pumpkin."  So this is the face he picked

This is Joseph trying to explain that his pumpkin is "SPOOOOOKY"

Evelyn loves her Wonder Woman!

With all that's going on in the world, we decided to go a little patriotic with some of our patterns

Our pumpkins all in a row...

Just when I thought I was done carving I found out Joe's work had a pumpkin carving contest to be judged by the patients.  This is one of the hardest pumpkins I've ever carved.  So intricate!  I can't feel my fingers but our entry is doing well in the contest so far.  We find out at the end of the week who wins!
