Our last lake day?

I keep thinking we've had our last lake day of the season but then the weekend comes around and warms it up with the sunshine.  We are taking advantage of the beautiful weather and loving every minute!

Bird whisperers...

Since Emerald it seems that we are being inundated with some birds that need our help.  Sadly, we lost Emerald after almost a week of hand feeding.  It was hard on Lorelai so she's really taken to helping every living thing that's crossed her path since...especially hummingbirds!

Joseph has a new shooter game.  The base blows air which makes the balls hover and you shoot them with the nerf gun.  Joseph has played all day!

Time with Joseph...

 Lorelai and Evelyn are in school full time (HALLELUJAH!).  Scarlet goes to preschool for a full day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  That means that three days a week I get to have some one on one time with my littlest.  With the kids out of the house I am much more productive with my chores, errands etc so it's a joy that I get to find the time to spend one on one with Joseph.  I make sure to get down on the floor and just play a bit with him.  Today he wanted to build a track for his cars...and if I'm being honest I think I contributed some pretty good ideas!

Birthday pinata

For the first time EVER we got a pinata for Joseph's birthday party.  I didn't realize it'd be such a big hit! (no pun intended).  Joe controlled the pinata and everyone got a turn.  There were a few near catastrophic moments when kids ventured too close to a baton wielding child, but overall no mishaps.  We will have to do this again!  There are five videos at the end of this post in the web version...

Birthday boy

Joseph turned 3 years old on September 14th.  We had a party for him over the weekend.  We had a "Blaze and the Monster Machines" themed party (his favorite show).  We invited a couple friends over, ate cake, ordered a bounce house, and had a pinata!  It was a beautiful day for it!

Auntie did facepainting for the kids.  Lorelai wanted a hummingbird theme, naturally.
