Playing house

Scarlet loves to play house but she always seems to be scolding the children and "calling Daddy on the phone" to vent about the kids.  Where does she get this stuff??

Our Memorial Day...

It’s too bad we couldn’t celebrate Memorial Day with a big BBQ in our new house... but any chance we have to get dressed up in red, white and blue we will take!!  The military and soldier life has always just been such a big part of our lives.  It was a good opportunity to teach the kids about the true reason for the holiday.  Everyone needs to take a moment to honor those soldiers who signed up and gave the ultimate sacrifice so I may live this beautiful life with my family.  America is the best of the best!

We began the morning making a very patriotic trifle.  All the kids helped with the layers

Lorelai and Joseph spent a lot of time outside, using their binoculars to look for birds and wildlife

Scarlet spent part of the day playing dress up

Wonder Woman is one of Evelyn's favorite characters

After Joe grilled some stuffed burgers, brats, and hotdogs, we needed to walk off our food.  We took a stroll in our neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful day.  Bruno was finally allowed to come (he had been on restriction from exercise after some routine surgery).  Bruno was off leash and did amazingly well.  He always stuck close by and came whenever he was called.

Last day of school

May 22, 2020 would have been the kids last day of school.  It's definitely been a struggle.  They've been out of school since March 15th and I've been picking up the slack homeschooling.  Homeschooling is hard enough but trying to teach three different aged kids, three different things at the same time?  Anyways, just because it's the "end of the school year" doesn't mean our homeschooling will stop.  We will probably still have a lighter version of school throughout the summer so they stay ahead of the game.  Look how they've grown this year!

Lorelai still wants to be a Biologist when she grows up, her favorite subject was math and she likes to horseback ride and read.

Evelyn all of a sudden has decided she wants to be a doctor when she grows up, she liked writing stories in school and she likes to play outside with her friends.

Scarlet wants to be a Mommy when she grows up (more specifically a Mommy who drives a car), she liked playing in the kitchen at school and she enjoys singing to the radio

Another day, another hike...

We went on another hike and it was beautiful.  Once again, located less than 10 min from our front door!

Feeling on top of the world!

I was very nervous taking this picture.  I yelled at the kids if they breathed the wrong way!  Right behind them the smooth rock just dropped off and I was so nervous of one of them slipping.

Evening stroll...

We walked out our front door after dinner to explore our community.  We found amazing trails right here!  Such a fun family evening...

Love this father-daughter picture

little babes, running through the fields

I love Joseph's face in this picture.  He's looking down with a face that says, "whoa! We are up high!"
