Between the kids and the dogs, our house can get a bit chaotic. But it's fun and we love it!

Evelyn's birthday...
We celebrated with Evelyn's party a little early, so when it was her actual birthday we still wanted to do something special for her! We spent the morning at the zoo and on the way home we picked up some awesome cupcakes so we could all sing to her and make turning 6 extra special!
This kiddo loves to jump so the toddler play area at the zoo is the perfect place for him! |
Scarlet joined in on the jumping |

Our 4th of July!
I can't believe I'm so behind in posting this. We had a great 4th of July! Spent the day at home together and we set off fireworks with several neighborhood families. It was quite a show! I thought for sure with the houses being so close together and being a part of an HOA it wouldn't be allowed but I guess in Tennessee they have very few rules. We bought a few fireworks and the kids each got to help Dad set some off... but others in the neighborhood went crazy with their shows! Fireworks all around us and well into the night.
Solo flight!
This nervous Momma sent her two oldest girls on their first solo flight to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Florida for a week. It's a nonstop flight and there are a lot of rules and regulations to send unaccompanied minors. Lorelai and Evelyn have been counting the days and I think I've been stressed about them behaving well and looking out for each other etc. I think my stress may have translated over to Lorelai because as soon as the plane pulled up she started getting very nervous. I think she felt the weight of the responsibility of being the big sister in this situation. Evelyn was so sweet trying to make her calmer by saying, "Lorelai, it's ok! All the grown ups are so nice! And you can use my activity books on the plane!" We got quite a bit of attention at the gate and two separate moms with their families offered to sit near them in case they needed anything. Everything worked out well though. I had to stay at the gate until the plane was in the air and by the time I got Joseph and Scarlet home, my mom was texting me to say that they had already landed and they were on their way to baggage claim!

And there they go! Have fun in Florida! |
Joseph was so obsessed with looking out the windows at the planes and the trucks. Waving bye-bye to Lorelai and Evelyn |

Ft. Campbell Carnival
Ft. Campbell put on a great Independence Day Carnival and we decided to go on July 3rd. It was such a great time! Lorelai just barely made that sweet spot 48" height requirement for the big rides. Evelyn is now 44" and many rides were listed at 42" so she got to ride quite a bit as well. Scarlet (my teeny, petite one) just barely made the 36" mark but there were quite a few rides that she could ride as long as she was with an adult. So many carnivals we've been to in the past have such tall height requirements, I'm assuming for liability reasons, so it was awesome that the kids had so many rides that they could experience. Little daredevils.
This picture totally says, "hey ladies, what's up..." He's cruisin'... |
