Learning to drive

The girls are older and finally getting the hang of their power wheel.  Evelyn still needs practice with her 3-point turns.

Nashville...day 2

The next day was super rainy so we headed to the Adventure Science Center before driving home.

The girls loved this interactive map.  You turned the wheel to zoom in and out and tilted the large disc to move around the world.  The girls wanted to find Elizabethtown...

And we even zoomed way in to find our house

Nashville...day 1

The Dai Family wanted to get away for the weekend so we took a short trip to Nashville for two days. We got there Friday night and had dinner and then in the morning we explored the Nashville Zoo and a little of the city.  Great time!

Dinner at the Wild Horse Saloon.  Live music and line dancing lessons!  So fun!

Nashville Zoo is so beautiful and the habitats are amazing.  We loved exploring it!

 The zoo had an awesome zipline!  It's higher than it looks and it gives you a great view of the giraffes and the rhinos.

We ended our zoo day with some fun at their ultimate jungle gym.  This was one of the best playgrounds I've ever been to with the girls.  Tons of stuff to do for all the kids and for all ages.

Joseph's in the toddler area.  Only for under 42 inch kiddos and very well enforced so that was great.  He enjoyed a space of his own to play and climb.  Scarlet loved it too!

Joseph's Birthday Party...

So many bumps in the road during the prep for this party but we got it done and it was a success!!  Joseph had a great time and we loved celebrating him becoming a toddler!

Joseph's airplane cake.  My most difficult cake ever!  This was actually take two version.  I woke up this morning at 6am to find that the cake I made last night had toppled over.  With some scrambling I made an even better second cake and it lasted through the party.  I love learning new cake decorating techniques and I definitely learned a lot with this one!

All of the girls were very dainty when eating their first birthday cake.  Joseph just grabbed it with a whole fist and shoved it right in his mouth.  Typical boy!  Love him...
