First Day vs. Last Day...

These girls have grown this year!  Here are their first day of school pictures compared with their last day of school pictures.  Side note: I understand now why parents don't love summer vacation.  I am saddled with three kids 24/7. 



Below is Evelyn's first day of PreK-3.  She was so excited!  She couldn't tell me what she wanted to be when she grew up so I just put on the sign what I thought she excelled at...

  

 And here she is on her last day of school.  When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up she said, "I want a baby in my belly."  So I asked, "Oh, you want to be a Mommy?"  and she said, "YES!"  A noble profession indeed!

   

 Below is Lorelai's first day of PreK-4.  She has changed her mind about what she wants to be when she grows up about ten times this year.  Time will tell!  On the first day of school, when I asked what she wanted to be when she grew up she debated between a nurse and a doctor.  She settled on doctor when she said, "I don't want people to tell me what to do".  Typical Lorelai...

   

She looks like such a big kid now!  She is off to Kindergarten and I hope she always loves school as much as she does today!  Currently, she'd love to own a bakery when she grows up.

   

T-ball!

Lorelai has started T-ball and just had her first game.  Unfortunately, she's on the Yankees and that's all I'm going to say about that....

Anyways, in t-ball they get three attempts to hit the ball with the coach pitching.  If they don't hit it, they use the tee.  Our coach was not great at pitching.  Lobbing the ball too high.  Me and her need to start working in the backyard a little bit.  But it was a good first game.  All the kids on a team bat each inning and they do two innings each game.  This lasts about 1hr 10min.  It's a little brutal but I'm excited to see her start this sport.  I hope she loves it and wants to play softball someday!

End of the school year...

The girls just had their end of the year preschool programs.  They were on different days because Lorelai is "graduating" from preschool and moving onto kindergarten so they gave out little diplomas.  Evelyn's program was the following day.  And I apologize in advance for the horrible camera work...Scarlet is completely to blame as she bounced in her seat and climbed all over me, effectively jostling the camera repeatedly...

Every time Lorelai saw me video taping, she got shy and forgot some of her words.  I couldn't get good video of Evelyn.  They put her in the back row with tall boys in front of her!  I did my best...  Enjoy!

Spring Horse Show...

The girls participated in their second horse show and they did awesome!!!  Our whole family is really getting into horseback riding.  They were involved in the same three events as in the fall: Equitation (this tests their posture, how they control the horse, basically their overall horsemanship), Rings and Things obstacle course, and bareback. (Evelyn didn't participate in the Bareback event.  Her instructor said she wasn't ready)

And the results??

     Equitation - First place!! 
     Obstacle course - third place
     Bareback - second place

Evelyn's teacher sent me this.  Apparently the kids got donuts today in school during their Easter Party.  Evelyn clearly likes donuts.

Lorelai is all registered for kindergarten!  Such a big girl and she is very excited to ride the bus!
