Just playing sweetly by herself... It's amazing how quiet the house is when her two sisters are in school. She loves this alone "Mommy and Me" time. Enjoy it while you can, Scarlet!

Science Center...
Back to the Kentucky Science Center because Lorelai has been nagging us to go for months! We haven't been in a long time and this is the first time Scarlet was really able to play and get into everything. Everyone had a blast...but Scarlet especially had an incredible time!
Scarlet would NOT leave this little play place. This is actually, probably a good environment for her. Nice and caged in! |
Playing in the "rain" |
Discovering magnets |
She has such a sweet smile... but at the same time, she seems like she's up to something... |
Scarlet loves the water |
They love to watch the balls float around the water and jet up into the air! |
Look at that face! The anticipation is building.... |
Look at that pure joy! |
Could she be any happier?? |
Scarlet really loved the giant Lite-Brite board |
I think she'd spend all day putting the pegs in the board and watching them light up... |

Tubes!
Two of our sweet girls have been plagued with recurrent ear infections and so they're getting tubes placed in their ears. Hopefully, due to Lorelai's age, she'll only need them for about a year. At least I was able to get the procedures scheduled on the same day, one right after the other.
The surgeries went fine. We were warned ahead of time that kids getting their tubes are sometimes irritable when they wake up from the procedure because it's so quick...they get put to sleep and woken up so quickly. Well, after Lorelai's tonsillectomy she did not wake up well from the anesthesia. The medication affected her in a negative way... and the same thing happened this time around so we have to avoid certain medications in the future. Scarlet handled everything perfectly! She actually woke up a happy baby. By the evening time, the girls were pretty much back to normal. Hopefully no more ear infections!
Coloring before surgery... |
This girl knows what's to come a little bit...after having tonsils taken out in August she's a little nervous for the surgery |
Getting ready to be wheeled out... |

Big sister in training...
Lately, Scarlet is all about the babies. She likes to feed them, rock them, and push them in the stroller. She's taking this job title, Big Sister, very seriously!

My little cowgirl...
Lorelai is really excelling at her horseback riding lessons. Both Lorelai and Evelyn are in the "short stirrups" due to their age and skill level. They take 30 minute long private lessons. Once they can prove their ability to tack their own horse and control the horse on their own, they'll move up to group lessons. Well, after today's lesson, Lorelai's teacher said she's just about ready to move up! She's only been taking lessons since late July! They are thinking of getting ready to move her around the summer time. I'm very proud.
They lessons are very progressive. They begin just learning balance and how to sit in the saddle. They gradually move up to holding reins on the horse's harness, and then graduate up to reins attached to a bridle. In the beginning, the instructor never lets go of the horse and is in full control. In the video below, Lorelai can be seen controlling her horse completely by herself and even moving to a trot in the end. It's not a great video as I was busy wrangling Scarlet....but enjoy!

Keeping up with her sisters...
Scarlet is getting bigger and better able to keep up with her sisters. This includes on the playground!! She is fearless!
Finally able to climb into the playground without Momma having to squeeze in too! |
So happy! Going down the slide all by herself |
Peek-a-boo!! |
Finally learning how to slide down on her bottom instead of head-first! |
Down... |
...the slide... |
...we go! Don't let that face fool you! She is up and giggling right afterwards. |
She still likes to go down head first! |

A special anouncement!!
We are elated to announce that we are expecting again! It took one try and a baby is on the way! Now the question is...will this be a house full of girls?? We will be excited either way. This is probably our last one. I say probably because it seems that we are blessed in the fertility department and seem to get pregnant so easily... who knows what the future holds! Joe's convinced that we'll have 5 or 6 kids even if we aren't trying! Everyone is excited for this little one's arrival... due September 11, 2017.
Giving Scarlet a few pointers on how to be a big sister... |
Graduating to big sister status, September 11, 2017! |

February wrap-up...
Left over pictures from February...
Scarlet loves babies! |
Lock the doors! Scarlet can reach the door handles now! |
At the mall play area and look at that belly! I think I need to sort through some hand-me-downs and look on the next size for her. |
Warm day at the zoo. Sisters being sweet...if only for a moment. |
Scarlet is begging the dog to play with her. Trying to entice Addie with every dog toy in the basket. |
I had an appointment right in the middle of nap time today and there was no moving it. This is the result...passing out on the couch close to dinner time. |
18 month size clothes washed and ready for Scarlet. These don't even look big on her! |
Looking smart, Scarlet! |
