A rough week....
I have managed to live 32 years of my life without ever needing stitches. Not so with my children...and it appears they are in competition to see who can get the biggest gashes! It began last Sunday with Evelyn. She was twirling around in the living room and had her bottom lip tucked into her mouth. She lost her balance, fell, and hit her chin on the coffee table which led to her top tooth going through her skin beneath her bottom lip. It wasn't a big cut, but it was deep and she kept fiddling with it with her mouth so Joe wanted to close it up to prevent a big scar. The picture below doesn't show much but it's there. Just a couple stitches. We didn't take her to the ER because we'd wait hours for some intern to stitch her....Doctor Daddy to the rescue! Having him around sure comes in handy! It was traumatizing to this Momma who had to hold her down though....
Exactly one week later, Lorelai was dancing in the shower. After THREE warnings for her to stop, she slipped, fell, landed on her chin. Doctor Daddy to the rescue again! Blood was everywhere (good thing she was already in the shower. Joe's quick/creative thinking led to him using a maxi pad held to her chin to stop the gushing. Lorelai did a much better job getting her stitches than Evelyn. She didn't even need to be held down, which was good considering I was out of town. She was brave and held still. When I got home she proudly showed off her blue stitches and explained to me that, "It's ok. Daddy fixed it. He's a doctor!" People are going to think we don't watch our kids or baby proof our home...our solution is to just stitch them up! Sigh...

More Zoo days....part 2
The girls really wanted to go swimming today but the YMCA pool didn't open til late today. I took them BACK to the zoo to play at the beach area. They had a blast!
We go to the zoo all the time so we never need a map...but today, Lorelai got one and walked us around. She was our little navigator telling us where we would go and what we would see next. |
The love the big aquarium tank |
Changed into swimsuits and at the beach... |
They played here for almost two hours. It was a good day for some water fun |
Sweet face! |
Below is a video of them splashing around in the water
And another video of them playing at the beach. The zoo has "play leaders" that hang out in the toddler spots. It's like having a babysitter! She was making sand castles with the girls. Nice break for this pregnant Momma to sit and relax in the shade...

More Zoo days....part 1
We are leaving San Antonio in just a few weeks! We are enjoying our last few visits to our beloved Zoo. Definitely going to miss this place...it just never gets old...
She loves the komodo dragon |
Happy girls. They love climbing on the statues |
This bird was being very friendly... Might have something to do with the fact that it was stealing the girls' popcorn |
Stealing popcorn right off the stroller |
Loves the baby elephant! |
Below is a video of the gibbon interacting with Lorelai....
Another announcement!!!
The Dai family is expecting a baby...........GIRL!!!! We are so very excited for this. I think after two little girls a lot of people were betting on a little boy but that is not the case. There is no doubt that this little one is all girl. Poor Joe is really outnumbered but he uses it as an excuse to buy a "bigger shotgun". I love having baby girls....but I don't think I'll be looking forward to those teenage years! :) Our biggest problem with girls is figuring out a name so don't even ask. Most of you know we probably won't have an official name til the baby is born. Figures...as we've had our baby boy named picked out for years. Everything looks healthy and perfect too!!! We are truly blessed.
Waving a little "Hello!" |
Little feet....too cute |

May wrap up....
Some leftover pictures from May...
This girl loves to vacuum...every single day. And it's the absolute noisiest toy! |
Lorelai is ready for bed |
Evelyn is ready for bed too... |
Spending $1.29 for the girls to share a popcorn in Target is an absolute lifesaver! Mommy can shop! |
Showing off her penmanship...she's so proud |
This thief is stealing Mommy's chocolate covered strawberries (a Mother's Day gift to me!!) |
Pushing boundaries. She's not in bed but she didn't leave her room. Totally fell asleep in her doorway at bedtime. Now to move her without waking her up! |
Lorelai is practicing her letters. Evelyn is playing under the table (one of her favorite places to play) and bugging Lorelai by tickling her feet. Addie is standing guard... |
