Evelyn has been making a scowling face for a while. It is hilarious. She started off doing it when she was being disciplined and she'd hang her head but still look up with a furrowed brow at who was scolding her. She quickly realized that when she makes this face we can't help breaking out into laughter. So now she does it all the time to get a laugh!! She is so funny. We'll say "HEY!" and she will scowl at you until you laugh. What a silly girl...
I've read to Lorelai since she was in my belly. She enjoys books more than any 3 year old I know. I want to get Evelyn into books more. Sometimes, being the second child, she doesn't get as much one on one time with Mommy and I am actively trying to read to her more. Now Lorelai is reading to her sister! So sweet!
Both girls had doctor appointments today. Poor Evelyn had to get two shots. Because they behaved so well, I treated them to some fun at the park. It was a beautiful day.
Lorelai was so proud that she climbed to the top all by herself
Lorelai was saying, "Mommy, can you reach me? Touch my hand!"
Static!!
Fast slides!
Lorelai likes to go down on her belly...
Evelyn is getting more independent. Going down the slides by herself!
Another positive about the aquarium was their Iguana Jump. (Although it cost extra). It was a giant room full of all different kinds of jump houses. Some had giant slides that even I was nervous to go down at first. Evelyn had NO FEAR and wanted to go down the largest slides. It was so much fun. Basically, to sum it up, the best part of the aquarium had nothing to do with fish....
San Antonio just opened an aquarium. They've never had one before so we figured it'd be great. They also had a special 50% annual memberships for families, so we snatched that up. Well, this aquarium was not what I expected. I grew up with the New England Aquarium so maybe I was a little spoiled. San Antonio's aquarium was clearly not ready to be opened. Many signs were not finished, walls were not painted...it was a little lacking. Also, there was not a great variety of fish! Many of these fish were ones that we've had in our own fish tank. I wouldn't have been surprised if they had a goldfish in a bowl.
The highlight of the aquarium was the dinosaur exhibit. Not sure what dinosaurs had to do with an aquarium but it was very cool. They had huge, robotic dinosaurs. At first, Lorelai was a little nervous around them because they roared so loudly!
Here's just one picture of the dinosaurs. It was hard to take pictures because the room was very dark
Like most kids....my girls really love Frozen and the princesses, Anna and Elsa. Evelyn loves her new Elsa singing doll (you've seen her playing and dancing with the doll in previous posts) and Lorelai got a Frozen Elsa castle.
Evelyn is wearing her Elsa crown and using her magic wand
Lorelai is wearing frozen clip-on earrings
Frozen castle
I was talking to Lorelai as she played with her castle....she yelled at me to "Let Elsa get dressed!" Such attitude with this one...
Starting off the New Year with some leftover pictures from last month. Enjoy!
proud of her sticker artwork. THANKS AUNTIE!
Aunt Lorraine bought this shirt for Lorelai and now Evelyn is wearing it. It's a good thing their clothes are so cute...I don't mind the hand-me-downs.
Enjoying a warmer afternoon outside
Lorelai loves to feed/pet the koi fish
These two are best friends. It saddens me that they moved over four hours away. They love to hold hands even while watching TV. So adorable
Evelyn has been in the dress-up box. She loves to wear Cinderella's cape. She comes up to you and expects you to tell her how pretty she is. Then she smiles and giggles. Vain much?
