Update on baby #2

Just a quick update for everyone. I had a doctors appointment today. Everything so far is going great. I wanted everyone to know that I made my appointment for my ultrasound. My ultrasound will be on February 26th.  So it is on this day that we will hopefully answer the whole boy/girl question (as long as the baby cooperates). I will be posting results then. Any guesses??  Let's just all pray for a healthy baby!!

Tormenting the animals

Our animals really do put up with a lot of abuse from Lorelai.  They are all so good with her though.  Lorelai has really taken a liking to our new cat, Lola.  Here's a video of the two interacting.  I've never seen more tolerant cats than ours.  Our cats have their claws too, and Lorelai has never even gotten a single scratch!  I've even seen Lorelai put Lola in a headlock and the cat doesn't do anything...

Discipline

Sometimes it can be hard to discipline Lorelai.  Mostly because I just end up laughing at the end.  She gets very upset when she knows you're not happy with her or don't want her to do something.  On the plus side, she usually does listen!!  She is becoming very good at sticking her bottom lip out, pouting, and looking sad.  I'm a strong believer in discipline and Lorelai will learn from an early age that she can't get away with things.  In the video below she was playing and then tried to get into a drawer and I told her "no".  Well, devastation resulted but she listened. 

Toy explosion

Is everyone ok?  No one was hurt?  It looks like a toy store exploded in my living room!  Lorelai likes to get into everything and nothing holds her attention too long before she's on to something else.  After some hard play time, she is relaxing with Daddy, watching a little Sesame Street.  I hope the peace and quiet lasts!

Walking...better

So she has her good and bad days with the walking.  Sometimes she really likes to practice and will just walk back and forth in the livingroom.  Her biggest issue is she always seems to want to take off running!  She was really tired when this video was taken last night.  It was already past her bedtime but she was having such a good time, I let her stay up.  ENJOY!

Walking....sort of

Though she is mighty unsteady, Lorelai is officially walking.  I think she falls so much because she doesn't slow down and try to walk....she wants to run!!!!  She gets so proud of herself when she walks and often claps afterwards and looks at you as if to say, "acknowledge my achievement!"  I love her to death but I am quickly reminiscing back to the days when I could just stick her in a baby swing and have some "me" time.  Why, oh why, did I want her crawling and walking and hitting all those lovely milestones so quickly?  It's the same with the talking I'm sure.  I seem to can't wait to hear her talk but I know the day will come when I wish I could just plug her up with a pacifier.  Right now she still just says, "Dada" and she loves to say "hi".  Other than that, she just has her own language.  Often times she yells and points when she wants something. Addie sure is tolerant.  She keeps careful watch over "her baby".  It's fun to see them interact together.  Of course, with such a big, clumsy dog, their is an occasional bump, fall, or accident.  It's always minor and for the most part, Addie is very gentle with her.  She practically tip-toes around the baby.

We're expecting!

I think the cat is already out of the bag...but just in case, I am making it official on our blog.  We are expecting baby #2!!  We should find out if it's a boy or girl in about 6 weeks.  The baby is due July 14, 2013.  We are thrilled that Lorelai will have a sibling so close in age.  This will no longer be "Lorelai's blog" but one for the whole family.  I just had an appointment last week and things are looking great with the little bambino.  More info to follow!

Loves a shower

Lately, Lorelai has been taking showers instead of baths.  She loves to play in the stream of water.  Daddy was getting a shower ready for her and turned his back for a minute.  When he turned back around he said, "uhhh, where's the baby???!"  Lorelai decided to start the shower on her own!  Crawled in with all her clothes on and started playing.  Silly baby!!

Christmas morning...

Santa was good to Lorelai this year.  She had way too many presents!  Opening the gifts was an all-day affair.  We had to take breaks after every few presents because she wanted to play.  Here are just some pictures of Christmas morning and two videos as well.
