Christmas morning

Santa came!  Christmas morning was more of an all day affair.  We had to take a break a little more than halfway through because the amount of toys were overwhelming.  Everyone was happy with their gifts.  Lorelai really got the hang of ripping open the presents and began to understand that if she stopped playing with a toy, we'd give her another gift to open.  Evelyn really just enjoyed the paper.  Her gifts were great too but she's obviously too young to understand the concept.  Daddy really enjoyed his gifts and Mommy loved all of her jewelry and almost broke into tears when she received her spa day from Lorelai and Evelyn.  A gift for being such a great Mommy :).  Here are some pictures and videos from our Christmas day.

Learning how to drive already?  I know I'll blink and she'll be getting her license

Lorelai loved these magnetic dress up dolls.  It's not the best picture.  Basically it's like the old school paper dolls but all the clothes/accessories are magnetic.  She calls them her "girls".  She plays with it all the time!  Sometimes she tries to dress them in every article of clothing they own though (like in this picture)

Dr. Dai

Why do they call these "Doctor kits".  It seems more like a "Nurse kit" to me!  Taking blood pressures and giving shots is more of a nurse's job.  Maybe she'll be a nurse!  And she sure is talented.  Look, she's taking all her vitals at the same time!

Taking a break and reading with Daddy.  We are so lucky he was able to come home for a couple days.

Evelyn likes to rip the paper

This is her reaction to her Peek-a-boo Bear!

Lorelai is fixing her Daddy something to drink.  She really enjoys her play kitchen

Evelyn loves her noisy, stacking blocks

It is so easy to make this baby happy

Waiting for Santa...

Santa is coming and the girls are excited.  Hanging out near the beautiful tree...

Christmas Cookies!!!!

It's that time of year... and a time for baking!  Lorelai is helping to decorate Christmas cookies!  We are making memories today that I'll never forget.  I am so excited that my little girl is getting big enough to help me in the kitchen.  Although, I think she is doing more snacking, than decorating...

Fun with Grandma!

She liked to choose which sprinkles went on which cookies

SPRINKLES!

Kind of messy, but pretty good for a first time

Evelyn is bonding with Addie...

Could this be any sweeter?  Addie is giving some lovin' to baby Evelyn and Evelyn looks to Addie in awe!

A visit to Santa

We were the first in line to see Santa.  Lorelai calls him "Ho Ho".  She gets excited whenever she sees him (in books, movies, etc).  When she saw him at the mall she got very excited, started laughing and yelled "HO HO!"  However, when it came time to sit on his lap, she wasn't having it.  I had to sit next to Santa, with Lorelai on my lap.  Evelyn sat with Santa (she was pretty indifferent).  It made for an ok picture.

It's hard to be patient.  This is Lorelai waiting at Santa's door.  We were the first in line

"Lorelai!  I hear sleigh bells!  Is it Santa?!"

This was her face when she aw him

All of us with Santa

Just the kids.  Evelyn has a sweet smirk

Jumping Bean!

Evelyn is really getting the hang of her jumparoo!

Her father's child....

Ok...  Lorelai is showing some signs of organization.....  and when I say organization, I guess I mean OCD.  It is very much like her father.  In the pictures below you can see an example of what I mean.  She spent over 30 minutes playing with these post-its. She was covering every piece of the white paper that she could.  She was very meticulous and wanted no help.

Cold front

Last week we had a cold front and the temperature was in the 30's.  That didn't stop us from playing outside.  Lorelai loves her new owl hat and mittens!

Lorelai's Birthday Party

It's fun to turn 2!  And Lorelai is definitely a very spoiled little girl.  Our plan was to go to the Zoo in the morning, come home for naptime, then wake up for her zoo cake and presents.  The Zoo in the morning was...................... miserable.  A cold front came through.  It was cold and overcast and just yucky out.  We didn't stay long.

It was cold, but Uncle Stevie was a good sport

Lorelai loved the snake

Giving hugs to the elephant

After her nap, it was time to open presents.  Lorelai really got the hang of opening gifts.  Her favorite was the Hobby Horse that Grandma got her!

Her other favorite gift was a vacuum... go figure
