Uncle Stevie

One of the best parts about going to TJ's wedding was Lorelai getting to meet her Uncle Stevie for the first time.  He was such a natural with her.  I loved watching the two of them together.



Plane ride home...

Lorelai is a very good traveler.  The last time she flew she was a perfect angel.  This time was a little more difficult only because she wants to get up and move and crawl and check everything out.  Luckily, on the way home, we were able to get a free seat next to us so Lorelai had her own place to sit.

TJ's wedding (part 2)... dancing!

Lucky for Momma, there was a daycare area at the wedding so I could enjoy myself during dinner.  It closed at 9pm and that meant that Lorelai was ready to party.  She was already changed out of her dress so she'd be comfortable and she was ready for the dance floor.  Lorelai loved the music!  Several people were gathered around to watch her bop her head to the beat of the music.  It was hilarious to watch.

TJ's wedding (part 1).... Photo shoot!

TJ's wedding was this weekend and it was so good to see some family and friends.  Secretly, my favorite part was getting Lorelai all dolled up and snapping pictures!  I love the beautiful pink dress that Lorelai wore (thank you Aunt Lorraine!).  It was an absolutely beautiful wedding and I am so happy I was able to be there to share the special day.

Officially crawling

Lorelai is now completely mobile.  We were able to capture her first time crawling on video.  Now that she's gotten the hang of it, she never wants to sit still.  She just wants to go, go, go!  She loves to explore and always seems to be intrigued by things she shouldn't touch.

8 Months Old!!

Ok, I am a day late in posting this... but Lorelai is now 8 months old!  Hard to believe. Taking these monthly pictures are getting so difficult now.  Lorelai will not sit still!  Now that she is mobile she never likes to stay in one place.

Goat??!  We got this rocking-goat for Lorelai in Prague before she was born.  Apparently, there's a fairy tale in Prague that uses a goat as one of the main characters.  We thought it was unique.  She doesn't really know what to do on the goat yet, but she sure was proud of herself for staying on!



Dead to the world

Lorelai did NOT want to get up this morning.  She was in a mini-coma.  Time to get up!

Thank God for a highchair!

It was becoming pretty frustrating and unbearable to feed Lorelai without her highchair.  It's so nice to have our household goods, even though so much of it was damaged. (sigh).  Here are some pictures of Lorelai enjoying her highchair.  She doesn't have teeth yet.  Her two bottom ones are just poking through the gums.  She really likes to gnaw on fruit.  Lorelai makes a sticky mess but it's nice to stick her in her high chair with something to eat while I'm cooking and she completely entertains herself.

Lorelai still doesn't know what to do with these bits of cereal yet.  She doesn't like to eat them just yet but she practices her pincher grasp by picking them up.  The dog also enjoys her practicing as much of the cereal ends up on the floor.  When Lorelai is in her highchair, Addie is not far away.

A girl and her dog...

Lorelai is getting much better at being mobile and scooting/crawling around.  When she sees something in the distance that she wants, she goes after it.  Unfortunately, what she usually wants is the dog.  Poor Addie is a good sport but she puts up with a lot of abuse.  There are two videos below f her crawling around with the dog.

The most fun toy around...

NEWSPAPER!  Out of all the toys she has, it's amazing how much joy she gets out of a newspaper. Go figure. We were getting ready for bed and Lorelai got a hold of Daddy's military paper.  She loved it.  I think she really liked the sound it made when she played with it.  Don't mind the buzzing in the video.  I was brushing my teeth.  hahaha. She is so funny!  I love to watch her discover things.

Little Detective...part 2

I wrote recently how Lorelai loves to inspect things now.  She will look at something that interests her, with her brow furrowed, and just checks it out.  It's real cute to watch.  I caught her inspecting her toy monkey and after about 5 minutes, decided to video tape it.  She was very interested in the monkey's feet.

Book worm

Lorelai loves books and we hope it stays that way.  We try to read to her every night.  She especially loves "touch and feel" books.  She is very much into textures right now and likes to touch everything.  She was enjoying this book on her own while mom and dad were getting ready for bed.

Dog and Baby

Lorelai is so interested in the animals.  The dog lets her hang all over her.  The cats, on the other hand, are not as tolerant and don't love it when Lorelai tries to grab their tails.  Lorelai very much enjoys hanging with the dog.  I think she will be an avid animal lover like her parents!

Crawling???

No, she's not crawling yet.  But Lorelai is sure trying!  She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth and then gets frustrated when she doesn't go anywhere.  She'll be cruising around soon!  I should enjoy these last few days/weeks with an immobile baby.  Pretty soon I won't be able to take my eyes off her for a second!

As Lorelai gets older I've noticed how she likes to inspect things now.  She passes toys from hand to hand, feels different textures, etc.  I caught her in her jumparoo trying to get a closer look at the lights and the music.

How does this thing work?

Play time is the most fun time!  Makes for a happy baby!

New outfit

Lorelai is growing so fast!  The fun thing about her growing is getting to dress her in new outfits.  She loved this pink dress, and I couldn't believe it was size 12months!
